Sunday sketch #533

I’ve shared a few two-colour quilts lately. It’s often my default palette; I think it can really add to the impact of a simpler design. And this week’s design uses only two shapes: a square and a quarter-circle.

When I played with different two-colour palettes, I changed the layout slightly, adding more wavy layers the top left and bottom right. I prefer the emptier version above, but I was too lazy to redo all these colourways 🙂

Playing with all these two-colour versions made me think that a larger palette might work too. This is just a quick attempt.

With just squares and quarter-circles, this week’s sketch would be super-easy to construct as an actual quilt. Lots of chain-piecing!
