Splat! The slightly irregular edges on this week’s sketch remind me a little of a liquid splashing onto a solid surface – or those slow-motion videos of crown splashes.

I like how this week’s sketch feels kinda wonky, even though all the straight lines in the design are horizontal or vertical. I think there’d be scope for being a bit lazy with accuracy if you made this into a quilt – letting a bit of ‘imperfection’ add to its charm.

Sunday sketch #466
This week’s sketch is another design that let me use lots of colours – well, up to six, which is a lot for me 🙂
It’s a block-based design, and each block has three distinct elements: four small circles, four orange peel units, and an outer squircle encompassing everything. So a two-colour palette is possible (though not very interesting), but a palette of three or more colours is best.
