Sunday sketch #117
I think I need to make a white-on-black quilt, just to get this colour* scheme out of my system. Or maybe I just need to get better at using Preview to clean up my quilt design pics!

A bit of hand-sketching this week, with lots and lots of short parallel lines as filler. You can probably tell by the wonkiness of the lines where my hand got a little tired/cramped….
This design could be made into a quilt pattern using lots of long strips and a few flying geese.
* I know, I know: black and white aren’t colours 🙂
Sunday sketch #116
This week’s sketch isn’t terribly original; I’ve done something a bit similar myself, and I’m sure others have too. But I felt like I needed a design where I could play with colour a bit.

This design could be made into a quilt pattern using simple stripes, or even half-square triangles if you were feeling industrious.
Sunday sketch #115
Remember the ‘comb’ shapes from last week (and previous weeks)? Here they are again, only shorter and fatter, with some extra lines thrown in for good measure.

There are so many potential ways to connect the combs, but I opted for half-rectangle triangles. Then I decided to add some cross-hatching to see what other elements popped out.

This sketch would be easily translatable into a quilt pattern using half-rectangle triangles.
