Sunday sketch #81
This week’s sketch is a more condensed version of last week’s; instead of a 9 x 9 block, each wreath / star shape fits into a 7 x 7 block, with no sashing in between.
I really like the secondary shapes that emerge from this design. It’s easier to see them when you colour the sketch in reverse:
Don’t the wreath / star shapes look like suns? The vertices between the suns are close to suffering from the same fate as Sunday sketch #45, but I think (hope) that the other movement in this sketch pushes the undesirable elements to the background.
This sketch could be made into a quilt pattern using half-square triangles to create the blocks, which are set on point.
