Sunday sketch #59

This week’s design is a little like a herringbone pattern. But the angled ‘ribs’ don’t extend from a central spine, and their starting positions are staggered instead of symmetrical.

Each of these stripes could be made from two 3:1 half-rectangle triangles, or just from a strip of fabric cut at an angle.

The length and angle of the stripes can be changed too…

Geometriquilt: Sunday sketch #59-2

Each of these stripes could be created from four 2:1 half-rectangle triangles, or from strips of fabric sewn together at an angle then all cut together to create a column of stripes.

As always (or at least, as usual…), I’ve left the pattern uncoloured. But I can imagine this in solids (of course), or scraps, or a riot of patterned fabrics against a plain background, or vice versa… the possibilities are only limited by your imagination!
